Garden Design
Whether you have a new garden site and just don’t know where to begin or … have existing garden beds that now are in need of more than a little attention, I can help. I can take the stress out of the whole process by demystifying the whole landscaping process.
I assess your needs by visiting, listening to what you want and taking a good look at what you have in your yard already. I also consider your specific challenges or needs … things like poor soil, wind, low water supply, rabbits, deer or even your budget. Then I come up with a detailed plan specifically designed to make you and your garden happy.
You may want a low maintenance garden but still really want it to look interesting. I can design that too. I always like to consider plant textures and structures because I think gardens can be interesting in the winter too.
Through proper plant selection and good design, once established, a garden does not have to be labor-intensive. But it does take planning to develop a glorious garden that makes your heart sing when you look at it.
Plant Selection and Placement
Going into a garden centre can be a little overwhelming when you’re new to gardening. How tall will this plant grow? What zone does it thrive in? Is it best in sun or shade? When does it bloom? How large will it grow? How much maintenance does it require? How can I keep my garden blooming and looking great all season and even in the winter? Figuring all this out can seem like a major ordeal.
I have experience with all types of plants and shrubs and can recommend the right plant combinations that will work for you.
Bed Restoration
Existing garden beds often have good bones but for whatever reason may be looking a little sad. With a few improvements here and there, I can make them look glorious again. Sometimes they are just in need of a little tender loving care. Often pruning the shrubs, turning and edging the beds and a maybe a little mulching is all you really need.
Planters and Urns
There’s nothing like a few planters or urns overflowing with gorgeous annuals to spruce up your yard and brighten your day. I would be happy to handle that for you.
Garden Maintenance
If you have a busy lifestyle and simply don’t have the time to devote to your garden right now, I can get it done it for you. I have a team of people that do the manual labour under my supervision. I will only hire gardeners with proven track records in the horticultural field.
Coaching
If you are interested in gardening and would like to learn to do it yourself but are not quite sure where to start or you are worried you won’t know the difference between plant or weed, just give me a call.
